The Facebook API v2.0 is hobbled to prevent spammy apps from doing things like “like” pages on your behalf, post events, scrape your friends list, all sorts of things that we’re discovering a little bit at a time, making it very difficult for indieweb sites to talk to FB. It’s too bad their solution is to prevent all (including legitimate) access to these features, rather than something a little more nuanced. More evidence that FB is not really on the web…
